Common questions

The teacher chooses their pricing for 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons. The Teach Tutti fee is added to the cost shown on the teacher's profile and in search results.

You can pay using Stripe, PayPal, or by direct debit using GoCardless. You need to provide your bank details with one of these payment providers before the first lesson. The fee will be debited from your account on the lesson date.

You will continue in a 4 or 10 lesson block after the first lesson. The block payment will be debited from your account when all lessons have been completed from the current block. Lessons do not need to be weekly and can be taken anytime within a year of purchase.

You can book a lesson from the teacher's profile:

  1. Click 'Book a lesson' in the sidebar.
  2. If relevant, enter your login details to sign in.
  3. Select a lesson slot by choosing a date and lesson length. You can then select a suitable time slot.
  4. Enter the details in the 'Book your lesson' form.
  5. Enter your bank details with one of the payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, GoCardless). The fee will be debited from your account on the lesson date.

Contact the teacher directly to cancel a lesson. You must give 24 hours notice or the teacher can claim the full lesson cost.

Students are welcome to take exams. Teach Tutti do not enter students for examinations and this can be done by your teacher. Most teachers are experienced taking students through exams. We recommended talking about exams directly with the teacher before booking a first lesson.

Lessons typically take place at the student's home. If you want to travel to the teacher, we recommend discussing this directly with the teacher before booking a first lesson. You do not receive a discount if you choose to learn at the teacher's home.

Please contact Teach Tutti by filling in the above form to stop lessons. We will notify your teacher and stop recurring payments. Unless requested, your account will remain active so you can continue to arrange tuition.

A full refund is provided for your first lesson with a teacher if you decide not to continue tuition.

Refunds are not provided for any following lessons. If you have lessons remaining in your current block, this will be added to your account as credit and deducted from future lessons booked with Teach Tutti.

Message:

  1. Click 'Email' from the teacher's profile page.
  2. If relevant, enter your login details to sign in.
  3. Send a message to your teacher.
  4. When your teacher replies, you will be sent an email with the message and a link to respond.

Ring:

  1. Click 'Ring' from the teacher's profile page.
  2. If relevant, enter your login details to sign in.
  3. Choose a time slot for your phone call.
  4. You will be called from a conference number with GoToMeeting at your chosen time slot.
